TRIPLE CROWN CONTEST OFFICIAL RULES
1. No purchase is necessary to participate or win.
2. We will only accept one entry per person and one entry per e-mail address. We will only accept two entries per residential address.
3. PROMOTIONAL PERIOD. The Promotion begins at 12:01 AM ET on April 25, 2008 and ends at the conclusion of the final Triple Crown race scheduled to be held on June 7, 2008.
4. HOW TO ENTER. Visit any one of our Sites and click on the "$100,000 Triple Crown Contest" promotion link. Complete the online registration form using your legal name if you have not already registered. All fields must be entered accurately for your entry to be valid. You must update this information as necessary to remain eligible to win.
5. HOW TO PLAY AND WIN. The $100,000 Triple Crown Contest is played during the three 2008 Triple Crown races to be held, May 3, May 17 and June 7 only.
Make your picks for each race using the Enter/Change Picks page. Make your predictions for a set of questions before each of this year's Triple Crown races. For each correct pick you make, you are awarded the points specified for the outcome you picked. The sum of all your points earned from your correct predictions will determine your final point total and rank. You will also be asked to make two additional predictions which will serve as the Tie Breaker(s) in the event of a tie.
Confirm your selections using the submit button at the bottom of the Enter/Change Picks page. Follow all additional instructions listed on that page, observing all posted deadlines.
The deadline for entering and/or changing submissions for each race is posted on the Enter/Change Picks page. No submissions will be accepted after the deadline for any reason. The sole determinant of time for the purposes of the Promotion will be our servers.
Notes:
- You may change your picks any time before the deadline for each race.
- Race ties will be broken with the Tie-Breaker totals. The closer your predicted total is to the actual total the better. The second tie-breaker total will only be used in the event the first tie-breaker total does not break the tie.
- If the Tie-Breaker totals do not break the tie, the Contestant with the most consecutive correct picks in order starting with the first question will be declared the winner.
- Finally, if there are still ties, then the Contestant whose picks were submitted earlier will be ranked better. If you submit your picks and then change them, we will use the time we received your last set of picks for the purposes of the final tiebreaker.
- Your last entry that we receive before the deadline will be the only entry we shall consider as valid.
- Your overall rank in the Promotion is determined by the sum of the total number of points you accumulate from all Races.
- Overall ties will use the final Race of the Promotion as a Tiebreaker. Whoever has the better rank for the final Race of the contest will be considered to have the better overall rank for the overall cumulative Promotion.
In each Race there will only be three winners. If you finish in the top three in any Race, you will win the applicable Race Prize (as described below). If more than one Contestant is tied for any of the Race Prizes, the Tie-breaker total(s) will be used since only three Race Prizes are available to be won each Race.
If you finish first overall you will win the First Prize of a Panasonic Plasma HDTV and Blu-ray Disc Player (as described below). If more than one Contestant is tied for the First Prize, the Tie-breaking procedures will be used since only one First Prize is available to be won.
If you finish second overall you will win the Second Prize of a Canon Digital Rebel XT 8MP Digital SLR Camera (as described below). If more than one Contestant is tied for the Second Prize, the Tie-breaking procedures will be used since only one Second Prize is available to be won.
If you finish third overall you will win the Third Prize of a 40GB Playstation 3 (as described below). If more than one Contestant is tied for the Third Prize, the Tie-breaking procedures will be used since only one Third Prize is available to be won.
The contest winner in each of the first two races along with the highest ranked contestant overall after the second race that has not otherwise qualified
will have the chance to win the $100,000 Cash Prize
during the third and final race. Each of the three qualifiers will have the chance of selecting the top 6 finishers in order in
the Belmont Stakes. If one or more of the contestants correctly pick the top 6 in order and have complied with the contest rules
and requirements, that/those contestant(s) will win. One $100,000 Cash Prize is available to be won. If two or three of the eligible
contestants pick the top 6 in order, the Cash Prize will be shared evenly between those contestants.
Selections for the Top 6 in the Belmont must be submitted by one hour prior to the scheduled post time of the race
as per the instructions given to each winner. In the event fewer than 8 horses are entered in the Belmont Stakes, the
Breeder's Cup Classic will be used instead.
Point Scoring System
